Yesterday, we had the pleasure of being invited to the Holidays at Disney’s Animal Kingdom family and friends media event. While Disney’s Animal Kingdom always displays a fabulous tree and some holiday decor, there is all-new entertainment, decor, and holiday fun to be had by Guests this year!
Holidays at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
This year, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park will have festive new entertainment and holiday decor throughout the entire park!
Guests will be able to experience spirited entertainment, holiday magic, and majestic nature both daytime and nighttime. Best of all, these holiday entertainment options are included with the price of your Disney’s Animal Kingdom ticket.
The festivities begin on November 8, 2019 and ends December 31.
About Holidays at Disney’s Animal Kingdom:
Cheer-filled Character Experiences — SAY CHEESE as you don your best smile and pose with some of your favorite Disney Characters for unique holiday photos.
- Mickey and Minnie can be found donning their festive holiday-wear at Adventurers Outpost.
- Your pals from UP, Russel and Dug, are hanging out at Discovery Island.
- …and of course, don’t miss Donald and his pals jingling their way through Donald’s Dino-Bash.
Discovery Island – If you’re looking for an eclectic, whimsical holiday celebration, then Discovery Island is the place to find it!
At Discovery Island, Guests will find themselves in the midst of a celebration of winter, complete with hand-crafted decor created by the community of artists who make Discovery Island their home. The Merry Menagerie puppets are a can’t-miss!
Life-size reindeer, fox, and polar bear puppets sculpted by the artists roam around by day, while stunning roof-top luminaries and bird lanterns light up the skies during the night!
Tree of Life Awakenings – At the heart of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, The Tree of Life awakens every night as a series of winter-inspired stories emerge from within
The Tree of Life awakenings are perfectly accompanied by a nostalgic and heartwarming holiday-inspired soundtrack.
The Tree of Life awakenings happen periodically. Between the awakening moments, the Tree of Life shimmers, glitters, and sparkles throughout the entire night — full of holiday spirit!
DinoLand U.S.A. – DINO-MITE! Throughout DinoLand U.S.A., Donald Duck and all of his fabulous friends gather for Donald’s Dino-Bash!
Donald and his pals have each chosen fun and colorful holiday decorations which perfectly suit their individual styles!
Asia – Get ready to celebrate Diwali, India’s holiday festival of the lights! The residents of Anandapur have decorated the theater district in celebration of Diwali, complete with glowing lanterns, flowers and so much more. You can find authentic cultural performances in the square between Anandapur Theater and the waterfront stage.
Africa – In the village of Harambe, visitors will be welcomed with a unique holiday presentation.
The inspiration and style of Western traditions and the colors and textiles of authentic African celebrations will blend perfectly.
Pandora : The World of Avatar – The ex-pats which live and work on the moon of Pandora will be bringing some holiday cheer to their alien world.
Guests can find a display filled with beautiful, interstellar holiday decor at Pongu Pongu. This display combines vintage pieces from Earth with items handcrafted from materials which are exclusive to Pandora.
Of course, you can also find adorable holiday merchandise all over the park. I am obsessed with this “Santa Mickey” Loungefly bag.
I hope you enjoyed my pictures and coverage of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park during the holidays. Don’t forget, this event is returning in 2021! Woo-hoo!
