Travel Report: LEGOLAND Florida Resort

Travel Report: LEGOLAND Florida Resort

Do you live with a LEGO-maniac? If so, you’ve probably contemplated visiting LEGOLAND Florida Resort at some point. This month we were invited to experience LEGOLAND Florida Resort for ourselves! Please continue reading below to learn what our favorite LEGOLAND Florida lands and experiences were, as well as enjoy some of our pictures.

Heartlake City

My daughter is a true LEGO enthusiast! She spends the majority of her days making new LEGO creations or playing with her favorite LEGO Friends sets. She loves watching LEGO videos on YouTube and cannot get enough of the LEGO Friends show!

After discovering video reviews of LEGOLAND Florida Resort on YouTube, she started dreaming about the day she would be able to visit. She was especially interested in visiting the LEGO Friends “land”, aptly named “Heartlake City.” She would never go more than one day without reminding me that it was her dream to watch the ‘Friends to the Rescue’ Live Stage Show and to someday meet the LEGO Friends in person. She would actually become teary-eyed anytime she would watch a video of other LEGO Friends enthusiasts meeting the LEGO Friends in person. This child truly loves LEGO Friends!

‘Friends to the Rescue’

During our visit to LEGOLAND Florida, her dream came true! Not only did she experience the ‘Friends to the Rescue’ Live Stage Show at Heartlake Hall, but she was also able to meet Andrea, Mia, Emma, Stephanie, and Olivia in person after the show!

Description of the Show:

Heartlake Hall is gearing up for Andrea’s big performance, but when all doesn’t go as planned, it’s up to the other LEGO® Friends to come to her rescue to ensure the biggest concert Heartlake City has ever seen goes off without a hitch! Check the show guide for the live show schedule.

My daughter absolutely loved the show! It runs for approximately 20 minutes and features a handful of LEGO Friends songs that most LEGO Friends fans will recognize. She was thrilled with the dance-along and sing-along portions of the concert, especially when the LEGO Friends came off the stage to dance with their concert-goers! The LEGO Friends currently perform the ‘Friends to the Rescue’ Live Stage Show 3 times daily (11:30 a.m., 1:15 p.m., and 2:45 p.m.), but please consult the LEGOLAND Florida Resort Show Guide during your visit for updated times.

The Beginning

Just as we expected, LEGOLAND Florida does not disappoint when it comes to having plenty of LEGO-themed figures, sculptures, and decor. It all starts in “The Beginning”, the colorful area which hosts the Guest Services, park entry, ticket sales, and stroller/ECV/wheelchair rental areas.  The Beginning also has some pretty sweet eateries and shops, including The Big Shop!

The Big Shop is the the ultimate LEGO® shopping experience! Everything for the LEGO fan including LEGO toy sets, LEGO exclusives, Pick A Brick, apparel and logo souvenirs.

We loved Pepper and Roni’s Pizza Stop, and my daughter could not pass up the opportunity to take a picture with the awesome LEGO decor featured at this quick-stop restaurant! Pepper and Roni’s Pizza Shop includes gluten and soy-free options, as well as vegetarian pizzas.

MINILAND USA

LEGOLAND Florida’s MINILAND USA allows you to visit California, Las Vegas, Miami, New York City, and even galaxies far, far away during your LEGOLAND visit! Where else can you visit all of those places in one day?

MINILAND USA is a true “feast for the eyes” for LEGO fans. MINILAND was by far my personal favorite land in all of LEGOLAND Florida. I greatly enjoyed the Kennedy Space Center and New York City areas. My daughter’s favorite area was the Pirate’s Shores one.

LEGO NINJAGO World

LEGO NINJAGO World featured my daughter’s favorite Attraction in all of LEGOLAND! According to her, LEGO NINJAGO The Ride was the best ride at LEGOLAND Florida Resort. LEGO NINJAGO The Ride takes 4-D interactivity to the next level! LEGO NINJAGO The Ride is the first ride in all of North America which uses hand gestures instead of physical devices/controls (such as shooters, laser pointers, etc.) to control actions. So cool!

Blast animated fireballs, lightning and more at a sinister gallery of villains before teaming up to defeat a powerful foe. Track your score against friends, family and other guests, then ride again!

  • Must be accompanied by an adult if smaller than 48 inches

LEGO Kingdoms and Land of Adventure

Other notable lands are the LEGO Kingdoms land and Land of Adventure. Click the following link to view a short clip of the LEGO Kingdoms Royal Joust Attraction.

LEGO Kingdoms Description:

Go for a ride on the big, green dragon, take a spin on Merlin’s Challenge or joust in a royal tournament in this fair kingdom, where knights and princesses rule!

At Land of Adventure we stopped for a slushie at Dino Slush. Although it was raining, it was extremely hot! We found that the slushies were refreshing and we loved the souvenir “yard cups” the slushies were served in.

Unfortunately, most of the Attractions in these two areas were closed because of weather. In fact, by the time we made it to these areas, all “outdoor” Attractions at LEGOLAND Florida were closed. Most of the Attractions at LEGOLAND Florida are outdoor Attractions, so this meant there were not many more rides for us to enjoy.

Final Thoughts

Overall, we had a great time at LEGOLAND Florida. I will not try to compare it to other Central Florida theme parks or Resorts as they are not comparable. LEGOLAND is truly built for LEGO fans and kids. Most, if not all, of the Attractions are suitable for young children. I think that the admission ticket prices are fair for what the park offers. They also offer fantastic sales on annual passes often. Stay up to date with their latest offerings on the LEGOLAND Florida Facebook page.

We are hoping to “build” another vacation to LEGOLAND Florida soon! We are also hoping the weather will be more cooperative during our next visit so that we can review and visit more Attractions.
