“Colorful fireworks will fill the night skies over Coral Gables this July 4th. The City of Coral Gables, the Biltmore Hotel, University of Miami and the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, along with several corporate citizens, have collaborated to sponsor this year’s event. The celebration will include a special concert by the Greater Miami Symphonic Band, concessions, patriotic mascots, and a spectacular fireworks display.  Rick Folbaum, CBS4 evening newscast anchor and Irika Sargent, CBS4 evening co-anchor will act as the Masters of Ceremony at this year’s Independence Day celebration.

When: Friday, July 4th. Grounds open at 5 p.m., live concert at 7 p.m. and fireworks show at 9 p.m.

Where: Biltmore Hotel, 1200 Anastasia Avenue.

Parking: The City will offer free parking and continuous shuttle service throughout the evening to and from the Biltmore Hotel. Shuttle service begins at 5 p.m. from the following locations. Two park and ride locations where drop-off/pick-up will be taking place (North Shore Bandshell Park and 42 Street/Sheridan Ave). Free shuttles may be flagged down at any MDT stop along this route. Service will be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Headways will be 30 minutes.”

On-street and off-street paid parking (link is external) is available throughout Coconut Grove. Visitors with a Disabled Person Parking Permit may call the Ranger Station for additional parking information.

The Race to the 4th is On!  Homestead Hosts Annual Independence Day Bash
The Race to the 4th is on!  Back for its 7th year, this Independence Day bash at the Homestead-Miami Speedway will delight patriots of all ages.  On Monday, July 4, 2016 from 6PM to 10PM, a sea of people, awash in reds, whites, and blues, will descend upon the track—being treated to live music, food trucks, and kids’ activities.  Last year’s event boasted over 20,000 attendees and this year is expected to draw even more.  Of course, no 4th of July celebration would be complete without a fireworks display and this will be no exception.

Then you’re going to get wet! It’s rain or shine.

Where and when do I line up if I’m in the parade?
On Fernwood Road and you should be lining up by 9am. Map Link (The shorter line is the lineup area).

What’s my place in the parade?
Your place will be assigned when you show up at the lineup area.

Where and when are the fireworks?
The fireworks start at 9pm. You can watch the fireworks from the Village Green, or anywhere with a view of the Atlantic ocean.
